Hussainia Youth Committee
HYC was started for the sole purpose of delivering the
message of the Ahlulbayt to the younger generation in English, through lectures
and wider activities such as camps, sports and discussion circles.
Once again this year there were a variety of programs organised by HYC.
Weekly English Lectures
This Ramadhan we were honoured to have with us top scholars who delivered English lectures on
the weekends. Scholars included, Br Shabbar Mahdi of London and Br Mustafa
Najafi the production manager of Ahlulbayt TV.
Day London 2015
Al-Quds Day is
the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan declared by the Iranian
late spiritual leader Ayatollah Khomeini as an international day of
struggle against Israel.
yet again his year HYC arranged transport to London for all to attend the Al
Quds march in London on Friday 10th July 2015.
“The Quds Day is a
universal day. It is not an exclusive day for Quds itself. It is a day for the
oppressed to rise and stand up against the arrogant.” – Imam Khomeini
Camp- The annual HYC
Boys summer camp was held in August this year. There were 33 boys between the
ages of 8- 16 years. There were many discussions and lectures by Sayed Zaffar
Abbas of London and Ulema from Majlis Ulamae Shia Europe (MUS). Outdoor
activities included, football, bowling and laser quest.
Classes– HYC working
with the main committee have organised weekly Azadari classes in which
youngsters are being trained to recite Nawhas and Manqabats. This is an
excellent initiative as these sessions help our youth gain confidence to recite
